We were so excited to find such great Indian food in Danbury! We usually have to drive all the way to Brewster, now we go right up the road. Everything was delicious, fresh with good portion size. The place itself seems very clean and well run, the staff was friendly and service was quick. The meat entrees are pricey but no more that other Indian restaurants of this caliber. Overall we hope that they do well so we have that dinner option in the future.
Please know that I LOVE indian food.. I try every restaurant I find.. and I go often. Sadly, Taj in Danbury was a big disappointment. The coke was flat and the papadams were stale (both VERY preventable), although the nan was quite good; fresh and hot. The Paneer and Korma were both VERY bland, despite being ordered medium spice. Also, service was very slow, despite few customers. Our waiter forgot one entree. To their credit, dessert was tasty and delivered quickly.

We went to Taj Palace a few times and we're definitely going back again! The buffet has variety and service is great. The kids menu has variety which is nice when dining out with the little ones. I will recommend the Taj Punch, its very refreshing and definitely end your meal with a Masala Chai its full of flavor.

Way too expensive for Danbury especially since the food is average. A cup of coffee for $5.50??? And you have to pay for the rice.

The food is amazing, the breads are wonderful, and the restaurant feels cozy and warm.
