Taino Soleli is the newest addition to New York City's Historical Downtown Brooklyn. Restaurateur Ramon A. Martinez Jr. and Chef Juan Cucaz bring to light a rich culinary fusion of Spanish and Caribbean influences. What's refreshing about their interpretation, however, is its lack of pretension: hearty portions, reasonable prices and family recipes with sophisticated twists is what separates Taino Soleli from its rivals. The interior design is modern and seamless with muted bursts of native taino art and photography. Occasionally they offer art exhibits and display paintings, photography and sculpture by local Latino artists. At the back of the dining room is an impressive DJ booth which hosts a variety of DJs, depending on the night. Be sure to make a reservation for Friday's Latin Night, however, as the place packs up fast full of after work revelers looking to show off their latest Salsa step.
