These speakeasies inspired the Auld Shebeen. Over 90 percent of the material used to create the pub is authentic Irish salvage that was imported from Ireland. The Auld Shebeen was actually constructed in Belfast, Ireland and then was taken apart and shipped to the United States to be re-constructed at the Hanover Marriott. The Auld Shebeen is divided into four general areas, with a piece of Irish History in every corner.
The Dining Room and Library
The wood paneling and fireplace in the upper area of dining room are made of solid oak from the library of an old mansion in Belfast. The oak floor was milled from 400 year old beams and was salvaged from a catholic school in Dundalk, Co Louth. The oak tree is rarely found in Ireland since it has been harvested to build mansions for the wealthy in England. The Irish government has now started to re-forest the land of Ireland. The lower part is our newest addition, The Library, which is can be reserved for private parties. Here you can enjoy some of our famous dishes such as the Shepherd's Pie, Irish Meatloaf and Dublin Style Fish & Chips.
