Food was great but my wife and I left there hungry. I will agree with the other posters the portion sizes were extremely small and the pricing inconsistent. We had 7 appetizers. A beet salad ($6) consisted of one small beet cut up with a dollop of cheese in the middle with a few piece of bacon sprinkled on top. Tasty - yes, filling - not even close. The duck salad ($9) was worth the price. The chicken skewers ($9) scored high on presentation but lower on meat. Rib platter was good. Sweet potato fries were just a few for ($4). Total bill came to $35 (no drinks) after using the $25 restaurant gift certificate. This is a “one and done” for us. In summary – tasty but not filling and pricey.

My family and I had a most unsatisfactory and even offensive dining experience at the rumor mill. The owner treated us like 2nd rate customers, telling us that they only accepted restaurant.com coupons from people like "us" to fill tables. Also, we called ahead and spoke with a server about having 2 coupons, wondering if we could use both for our meal's bill. The server told us we could ask for 2 checks which we did. However, the owner and cook that night came out and treated my father as if he had made up the story about calling ahead, vehemently dening any of his servers mispoke over the phone. Overall I felt insulted and quite frankly, embarrassed for the owner, knowing what hard times our economy is in, he will likely not be in business at the end of this year because of his immature and hasty business conduct. I would definately say the food was above average, but honestly, not worth the possible headache and trouble the overall experience may end up being.

The food was good, but the pricing was odd. The waiter said the appetizers were sized for sharing and they encourage that. So we ordered a few. The tuna tartar was fabulous and big enough to share amoung 2 or 3 people. But the peanut noodles, at about $2 less, were in a tiny bowl not big enough to share at all. The price difference was odd, considering that noodles and peanuts are much less expensive than ahi-grade tuna. A tomato stack was also too small to share and seemed over-priced; pork barbecue was big and delicious. So great value on the tuna and barbecue, not on the noodles or tomatoes. However, the food was very tasty. It's not a kids' place; I wouldn't bring them. I'd go back happily myself, though.

We dined there this evening. It was terrible. Very inexperienced waitstaff was the main problem. Poorly prepared entrees were a close second for my negative feelings. Waitstaff was forgetful, rushed entree onto half finished appetizers, then made you wait forever for dessert and check in an empty restaurant. No wonder its empty. An order or rare tuna was grey throughout-disgusting. I've lived nearby for over 20 yrs...never will we go back.

This is a great place to just meet friends for a drink or have a fun romantic evening. The ambiance in this resturant is unlike any other I have seen. The food is fresh and exciting, this is a definite asset in Ellicott City!

This is an excellent addition to the Howard County dining scene - good food, great cocktails, and a delightful ambiance.
