My family and I has always been coming back here for their authentic chinese food! The wait can be a bit long but it is worth it. Service is prompt. My favorite dish is the beef chow fun; it's a must. Give this place a try if you're around the area or crave for real chinese food.

Terrible wait time for dim-sum. Be prepared to wait an hour or longer. They don't tell you that the wait will be that long either which just adds to your irritation. We were Asian and noticed that when a white couple came in they got their food first and we were stuck waiting for ours. The number of people in both parties were exactly the same so why did the white folks get theirs first? My mom got so upset that she practically dragged me out of the restaurant and vowed never to return. We were waiting an hour and 15 minutes and no one ever came out and told us "hey, you're food is almost ready". If you want to eat here be forewarned if you are Asian and not Chinese. If you're white - you'll get better service. If you are Asian and not Chinese I would suggest you take some White people with you to get faster service.

WE love Wongs! We live in Ankeny and often make special trips to enjoy the wonderful food. The potstickers are the best we have ever had, the combination rice noodles are out of this world! The carryout is sometimes iffy as we have had a couple of instances of not getting everything we ordered. Sundays, late afternoon, also don't seem to be key time to visit. The staff is generally very friendly and helpful!!

If you go for dinner, be ready to endure a really long wait. On our last visit, our waiter left a couple of dishes out of our order and the stir fry dishes we ordered took almost and hour to appear from the kitchen; in most Chinese restaurants it take less than 15 minutes to get similar dishes, and the restaurant was not even half full!
We have had similar experiences when going there for "dim sum" on Sundays; the last time, the first dish of our order took around 45 minutes before appearing, even though the restaurant was almost empty when we ordered. Also, special requests are difficult to get and there are problems if you try to effectively communicate with the cooking staff.
I am happy I can find a place to enjoy "dim sum" and Cantonese style Chinese cuisine in a small metropolitan area such as Des Moines, but you will have to arm yourself with a lot of patience if you decide to enjoy it at Wong's Chopsticks Restaurant.

everytime I go the employees are very happy and the food is spectacular, not what you normally find at a little hole in the wall chinese food dinner like this. Two thumbs up!

I've been to this restaurant before and the food was good & so was the service. However, this last time I went, the soup was cold, the food I ordered didn't have much flavor and then when we were ready to leave, we had to go to the counter to get our bill and the two people I was with paid their bill on a card, however, I was paying for my own and the guy at the counter says to me "you know that your bill must be $10 or more in order to use a credit card," and the worse part is that he was rude. Duh...they have WARNING signs all over the restaurant. I don't plan on going back
