The Wurst Haus Restaurant was founded in 1980 by Bernie and Maurlies Buschbom. After 18 successful years in the family the restaurant was sold in 1998. Eventually the building was sold and torn down. In 1984 Richard Wood began working for the Buschbom's, learning the recipes and operations. Richard approached Bernie, the original owner, with the idea of Re-Opening the concept. A new location in the heart of downtown Lake Jackson, on the corner of This Way and That Way, is the new home of the Wurst Haus. The Wurst Haus Restaurant is the perfect place when guests need that little "extra." Whether it be for business, quiet conversation, or a special occasion, our restaurant offers a warm and cozy atmosphere. The outside of the restaurant takes you on a journey to Germany. You see a garden of flowers in bloom surrounding our establishment. Upon entering the building your senses will be tantalized. There is a lot of excitment here and once you cross the threshold of our doorway, you are a part of it. Natural wood finishes, linen table clothes, and tables lit with candles in the evening cast a warm, inviting glow. Walls trimmed in a unique collection of imported beers and the aromatic smells in the air confirm your arrival. The menu showcases popular German favorites which are fresh, fulfilling, and flavorful. The German feel with an American twist is fulfilled by the freshest selection of ingredients prepared daily. The beverage offering is as plentiful as our food. With over 40 imported and domestic bottled beers, and a prime selection of draft beer we offer the most extensive beer lists in Brazoria County.

Nice people. Going into the place for the first time...reminds me of a pub with restaurant tables. Never tried German food before and the food I tried was good and very filling for the price. If you're a beer fanatic, this place should be on your go to list because they have a nice selection of drinks. Be wary, the drinks can get pretty pricey for the really fancy stuff. All in all definitely check this place out.
