Stemming from a desire to find dining information on the internet, ActiveDiner's designers soon realized that there were others like them. People that were travelling to a new city, moving into a new area, or even hoping to see a new side to a familiar neighborhood would be able to utilize the vast database. Once that basic idea was in place, other functions were added, functions that would dramatically reduce the time and hassle used to try new restaurants . No more scanning the yellow pages for restaurants, calling friends for recommendations, or phoning busy hostesses for daily specials or directions. All this and more would be included on one, easy to manuever website.
