Monroe Restaurant Guide

I ordered the beef brisket.It was very good and I got all I could hold.I am very pleased with Big Bob Gibsons and can`t wait to return.Next time,I`ll try the ribs.

If I had to choose my last meal on earth, it would be from Big Bob Gibson's.

Spare Ribs: they were tasteful and tender....they came with a lot of sauce on them, a debateable way of serving them.. next time I would order them dry..nice smoke taste to them


Baby Back Ribs: again, they came with sauce on them, but were still very acceptable in taste and tenderness


Brisket:.. very moist and flavorable, with a nice smokey flavor to them..A very good Brisket in terms of restaurant service.. came with hushpuppys,


Pulled Pork: Very Tasty, nice smoke flavor to them


Shrimp; very flavorable


Salmon.. nice smokey flavor, but a bit overdone.. also had a nice, crisp, and flavorable taste to the outer skin

Chicken: Very moist and tender, with nice hints of smoke flavor.. The mayo based sauce had a distinctive taste to it, which was rich in taste , and thin in texture.

Baked potato: Very good Filled with cheese , sour cream , and bacon... maybe they could add pulled pork , brisket, or smoked chicken next time

Slaw, beans, potato salad: all good

Dessert: Very good

All the plates we ordered came well appointed, and looked nice on the plate...The service was excellent.The staff was very engaging to our group, and seemed well trained.. As we were almost the only people in the restaurant, the manager , and assistant mangers, were also very talkative, and pleasant to deal with...

On a whole, the meal was good, the service above par , and the restaurant was sterile and for the most part clean.

I'd go back there in a heart beat

The pulled pork is actually chopped pork, there was no smoke flavor, no flavor at all and the pork was dry. The pie was not as good as Shoney's. The best thing were to hush puppies.

A great place for family dining. Food and service are above average.
