We ordered Veal Marsala and Chicken Pescatore. The veal marsala could only be characterized as nothing like what was described in the menu. The scalopine of veal contained veal that was thin and pasty colored and was cooked in oil with garlic. If there was any wine present in the meal, there must have been an opened bottle of wine in the kitchen because it was not in the marsala . The chicken pescatore was listed as a house specialty. If anyone thought this was special, they were exceedingly wrong. The paper thin chicken breast was "stuffed" with a single shrimp. Admittedly, I did order the dinners as take out, however, the small Caesar salad which was listed in the menu was not included in my order. If we had not paid $3 more each for the pasta, then we would have gone hungry. We had also ordered a shrimp scampi as an appetizer. The scampi was skimpy. The food was less than satisfying. The best part of the meal was the large italian roll. We chose take out because when we had gone to the restaurant to use the gift card the female "owner" was so rude that we left.

Excellent and beautiful Italian restaurant in Salem, NH. The food is consistently excellent with interesting specials daily. The Eggplant ala Romana and Seafood Stuffed Portabello Mushrooms are personal favorites for appetizers and the Shrimp Francaise is excellent. Although many would consider the Colosseum pricy in comparison with run of the mill Italian restaurants because in many cases pasta is additional, I think you get what you pay for. I love the Chicken Parmagiana but always listen to the specials just in case something different strikes me. Often they have chicken stuffed with some kind of shellfish, ricotta and a green vegetable (i.e. asparagus, spinach, broccoli) in a sherry wine or scampi sauce which is delicious. And the dessert cart is filled with a variety of scrumptious cakes and sweets. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Lets see. First off, we didn't get straws, or lemons. The guys next to us had way too hearty laughs. It was my birthday and the waitress made me tongue her. The food was far too filling. The god forsaken door rang every time someone came in. OBNOXIOU

The food was terrible. I ordered something very simple, Chicken Parmigiana and it tasted like a frozen dinner. My husbands dish was just as bad. The service was lacking and the atmosphere was uninviting and dull. Not a place I would recommend or

Can't beat the food for the money, always plenty for leftovers, best Tiramisu north of Boston.
Super people working there. You can't go wrong just don't mind the atmosphere but you're there for the food anyway.
