Seattle: Life abundant

Seattle’s reputation as the epicenter of great coffee is just one good reason to visit. From diverse shopping options to opera to ferry rides, there’s plenty here for everyone, whether on business or vacation. Listen closely along the popular waterfront and you may hear a whale blowing as it rises to the surface. And it’s hard not to hear the crowds cheering during a Seahawks game at Qwest Field or a Mariners game at Safeco Field. Enjoy the majestic Pacific Northwest aboard a state ferry with the Olympic and Cascade mountains and the Seattle cityscape in view. Like any great city, Seattle has its own aquarium, where from under a glass dome you can watch sharks and other creatures swim all around you. The Seattle Children’s Theatre is one of the most respected of its kind. But you must know that some of the excitement happens far above sea level. Built for the 1962 World’s Fair, the Space Needle glistens above the city with a restaurant at the top that revolves 360 degrees and an observation deck more than 500 feet above the bustling city below. Lest we forget, shopping is no ordinary experience in Seattle, perhaps best exemplified by Pike Place Market. This landmark market was founded in 1907 and features some 200 businesses that operate year-round, plus a similar number of craftspeople. Take advantage of the many flowers for sale; enjoy the talented street performers, musicians, and abundant surprises that await you here. And, of course, that cup of Joe is ready for you throughout this city. Take your pick from locally owned coffee shops, nearly 300 Starbucks stores, and a number of Seattle’s Best Coffee stores.
