I like Aniello's. There's nothing fancy about it. It's an old style East Haven neighborhood pizza and Italian joint. The food is surprisingly good, the atmosphere is pizza place meets diner, and the waitstaff is, well, local. Lunch is a bargain. You can have a glass of wine, a salad, bread and main course for about $12. My favorite is the fresh mozz. panini with fresh basil and tomatoes. Absolutely delish. Don't be surprised if your red wine comes chilled. It's that kind of place. Enjoy!

You can't beat John and Maria's for good food at great prices. Excellent pizza and always consistent. The person who had their business meeting there maybe should have picked a place that is a little more formal. Part of the John and Maria's experien ...

Have been going there for over 20 years since I was a child, moved out of state, drove 3 hours and chose to bring the food home, baked ziti. it was awful, no cheese in it and it was penne, not ziti. I called to tell them, they were rude, they lied and argued that it was ziti when it wasn't. I am not only never going there again but I have reported them to the better business bureau for refusing to make good on the meal. Absolutely awful food, price, and service. I could have dealt with the food had they even told the truth, that they ran out of the ziti and cheese, but they out and out lied.
