We eat at the Bistro on an average of once a week and really enjoy having dinner with Steve and Ann. It feels like you are going to their home. They know their regulars by first name and treat us all like royalty. Never a rush to eat and go and we can visit the Heart of the Mountain while we are waiting for dinner. Lovely!

Along a stretch of Highway 26 dominated by "Cocktail Lodges", the Backyard Bistro is a welcome relief, with a warm, intimate dining area and a quiet patio. The menu, featuring sandwiches and excellent appetizers (such as the 'Zucchini Patty': a thin and zesty pancake of shredded zucchini served with a curry aioli), is a sure pleaser for everyone, after a visit to Mt. Hood or the parks around.
Best selection of micro brews on the Mountain, grill your own steaks on an open-air barby any day of the week; but the service and personnel are what makes this place a real winner. Ask for Cathy when you're there -- she manages the restaurant and st

On Hwy. 26, you would never know when passing by that this perfect little bistro exists. Take the time to stop and enjoy. I have never written a review before, but I was so impressed with the ambiance, food, service and everything about this quaint spot to say it is well worth a trip up the mountain to enjoy a French countryside bistro, just minutes from Portland. Do Try: Zucchini it is awesome and the salads are terrific.
