Good thing there is a new owner! Bentley's is a great UTA hangout and we enjoyed a perfect burger and a pint of Guiness at a great price. I thought for a while that it was goind downhill but it seems that Bentley's is back after bad management. This English Pub is one of my favorite hangouts!!
A decent place but more of a bar than restaurant. The late night crowd consists of a few loud sloppy drunks and rowdies who routinely get hammered before driving home. I wouldn’t be too surprised if a high priced shyster takes them on after one of their patrons gets into an auto accident with injuries or worse. The bartender should learn how to call a cab before this place gets into real trouble.

great place to go for a late nite drink, maybe not as great as it use to be (but what is really). you should at least stop by and say hey to aaron and tammy.
I agree completely with the last reviewer on the poor service and overall experience at J R Bentleys. My wife and I have tried to enjoy a small meal and pint on two different occasions, both times leaving before even being waited on. It is apparent that the proprietor has no interest in providing a true pub atmosphere. What a shame to waste such a cozy little cottage in a great location.
I think J R Bentleys is a wonderful restraunt with a great menu. They have an exceptional wait staff and I would proudly recommend the restraunt to anyone. They have wonderful lunch specials and it also a great place to go and relax and have a good time with your friends in the evening.
a diner from Arlington, Texas
Don't bother. This place was declining before new ownership accelerated its slide. Formerly reliable as a place to get a late-nite meal in Arlington, it now has inconsistent kitchen closing times based on the whim of the bartender on duty. It still produces a good burger, and the best thing on the menu is a superb bread pudding, but most of the rest of the Cajun menu is either pedestrian or overpriced or both. The bar boasts a fair selection of domestic and foreign connoisseur beers, but there seems to be no interest in marketing to those who enjoy them. Instead, the owners are content to fill the place with twenty-somethings (UTA is nearby) whose palates have not yet graduated from Coors Lite. As a result, the substantial crowd of former regulars has generally fled to other local pubs. It's a shame--a 22 year reputation as a great neighborhood bar has evaporated in less than a year.
