I had been to Berns several times but my wife and mother had not. The ambience was unique but a nice change of pace. If you go to Berns you have to do it right or you will not have the right to complain. you have to get a tour of the wine cellar and kitchen both of which are extraordinary. They offer this after you order so its a great expirience while you wait. the staff is all season veterans and know their stuff. The absolute best part was the desert room and if you failed to make it there you missed out on the best part, it would be like leaving at the kick off of over time in the national championship game. The steak was very good and the desert was to die for. This was more than dinner it was an event.

The food is always delicious and the entrees include soup, salad, and sides! You can't beat that especially since most upscale steakhouses are all ala carte for the same price.

I have been to Berns maybe 6 times. Years ago drove an hour to go there and ended up sick all the way home. The food used to be good but now the quality and the shabby treatment by rude waiters along with the brothel decor makes for a miserable meal. Last two visits were awful. soup cold, ordered filet and got a sole from a shoe in my opinion. sent it back and they said sorry it was a mistake and they brought another one after 20 mins which was purple inside instead of med. Waiter was non existent. Wrote the manager and he never responded except to say he would check out what happened. The place is thr worst steak house in Tampa. If you doubt it go there and spend your own 200 or more dollars with your wife or a date and find out yourself. 0 stars is too high a rating for this dump.

This is a great restaurant, despite bad food and service. The Liberace-Meets-Frankenstein decor was so awesome that it totally blew my mind and made me glad.
Great restaurant for those like me who do not like food.

Like everyone else who lives near Tampa, I knew I had to go to Berns. The service was great, the decor was so pathetic. The food was o.k. but when you factor in the price you pay for the mediocore food in such an ugly atmosphere I have to give it a thumbs down. Try Armani's or one of the other high end restaurants.. don't wast your time at Berns.

After hearing people rave for many years about this restaurant, I could not wait to try it. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations, starting with the "House of Ill Repute" decor, moving to the underwhelming staff and finishing with overpriced, mediocre food. We sporadically go to the Tampa bay area and try new dining experiecnes. This was a large mistake.

Bern's is famous for a reason! It's the best steak you'll ever have, and you can't help but love the Liberace-like decor. It is worth every penny. Don't skip the dessert room!

A local institution...wonderful food in an overdone atmosphere, snooty but very knowledgeable waiters.
