I reviewed this 'restaurant' months ago, and my review has yet to show up. MY main complaint is the food. The word barbecue means the food has actually been on a barbecue, not just baked in a oven and then microwaved when ordered. The taste of real barbecue does not come from the sauce,(which is still the great smoky brown sugar), but from the actual smoking of the meat. Hearing the distinctive 'ding' of a microwave, and then receiving my food within 30 seconds is sort of a dead give away. Unfortunately, the sides are not any better. At best they are flavorless, and when there is flavor, it quickly becomes pretty much inedible. I ate my salad, and sent back the other side I ordered, pinto beans. Nothing was deducted from my check, I was offered to option of other sides but none were acceptable. 'Greens boiled in plain water is not how greens are properly cooked! I patronized Campbell's since the second day they were open, Mr. Campbell was always present, making sure the food was wonderful, and the customers were happy. He must be turning over in his grave, may he rest in peace, when his children took over, the quality dropped a bit but was still pretty good. Once the restaurant was sold out of the family, it became unacceptable. I've been 3 times, hoping it would get better, but it's only gotten worse. At this point, I will NEVER patronize this 'restaurant' again. It's too sad to watch the best barbecue in Portland become what it has, a sham of barbecue, no love, no soul, no style.

I've eaten at Campbells two different times I rarely give a place a second chance to impress me and the second time I tried it, continued to be unimpressed.

During both visits, I experienced the most rudest attidude from the waiter/counter attendant, as if they didn't care I was spending my money there or not.

I got the sampler which did not have everything, I wanted the pork ribs and I only got the beef ribs in my so-called sampler. They were all out of sweet potato pie, I guess it was late in the evening and they didn't think anyone else might want this pie every raves about.

The ribs were OK, could have been more tender, they gave me three thinly sliced pieces of beef brisket. The turkey and chicken was dry but palatable. The pinto beans were O.K., not as great as GoodDay Oregon (Saturday) raved about it.

Busters Bar-B-Q is a much better value over all. They (Busters) really are happy you showed up and spend your hard earned money there.
