Nice restaurant, great food but its in a rough neighborhood. We had to park 2 blocks away and walked past a few "undesirables" on our way to the resturant.

Candela is a family-friendly restaurant. Predictably, they serve a great deal of pizza, including many take-out orders, especially on Friday nights. However, if you would prefer a sit-down experience you may wish to look a bit further on their menu and leave the pizza to the kids. My husband and I have spent many a pleasant evening at Candela's. The ricotta-stuffed shells became a weekend ritual for me, as well as the gold standard for all stuffed shells thereafter. There is just enough flavor in the filling, which holds together well without being too "eggy," and the dish is served piping hot with ample red sauce in which to dip and swish your overloaded fork. Service is friendly and attentive, spills are allowed. I can only imagine that it would be that much more of an enjoyable dining experience with the kids.
