We were in New Orleans a week before Gustav hit and asked about our favorite restaurant, Charlie's. We have been going there whenever in NOLA for about fourty years. We have been disapointed when it did not open after Katrina. Well to our delight it had just reopened and the food was as delightful as ever. The steaks (we had the filet) were melt in your mouth perfect and cooked just as requested. The onion rings (very crisp and thim are the best and the salad is marked by the best Bleu cheese dressing ever (about 75% bleu cheese !!!!). Highly recommended.

Ordered lunch to go for five. Fried shrimp salad scary...small peices of pre-breaded shrimp way too salty so I tried to peel off the breading but impossible because they were so overcooked. Not as described on menu, lettuce looked fresh but tasted
