This is Worcester's best kept secret. Large portions of great Italian dishes. Nice fresh Italian bread and Marinara for dipping. Lots of takeout orders and you get seated pretty quickly too, if you want. Nothing fancy but great food.
I liked the food very much, but for 3 entrees (1 side dish), it was pricey @ $40--comparable to restaurant prices w/o the service. They kept me on hold for longer than usual (just to ask what time they closed). However, I thought the pizza was the best I'd had in ages and I would return just for that reason alone.
Portobello has been in business for over ten years on a very busy street. When I first entered Portobello, I felt like I was walking into a restaurant in Italy. The restaurant is headed by a profesional chef. Go to Portobello you will love it we did.

Portobello's food burst with such great flavors. There food is really good, try the mascarpone dish, it was excellent. I also like when the owner is an active worker, you can find him in the kitchen or behind the bar, we found him behind the bar, he

My wife and I just got back from Italy, it was great. Italy reminded us of our favorite Italian restaurant we eat in often, Portobello on Shrewsbury street in Worcester. The decor and the high quality of food made us both feel like we were eating in

Unbelievable Italian Takeout. My mother, stepfather, and I all had the Veal Saltimbocca and we shared a Caprese appetizer. The quality of the food was excellent. It was ready to go upon my arrival. Better quality than North End Boston Italian food I'

This place is really for take out - it's crazy busy and there are only a couple tables.
that said I am not tremendously impressed with this pizza. They skimp on the "good ingredients" I asked for a pizza with fresh tomatoes and fresh basil - I think there were maybe four leaves of basil.
and I'm very disappointed by the crust. It's a medium thickness without much flavor.
it's not bad pizza, it's just not everything is was made out to be. If you like thin crust, go to corner grille on pleasant street...way better

although I have walked in and ordered at Ciao Bella, I have to say that calling to place an order may be more difficult than getting an organ transplant. After being hung up on 3 times then being put on hold for 10 minutes, I never was able to order. Clearly there are some service issues. Management should more customer service savvy. It will be a avery long time before I go there again. Too bad, it's only 1/2 mile from my home. But there are way too many good places in Worcester to be treated so poorly without ever even speaking to someone!

This is Worcesters best kept secret. You can actually go there on a Saturday night and get seated pretty quickly. This in a place that only seats around 25. They have good size servings of gourmet Italian dishes and great pizzas and calzones too.

The food is great, with really excellent daily menu items, like pan broiled salmon and others. Typically this is a take out, but you can eat there, but it is pretty plain. The single serving size makes for 2 meals for the average person. Great food. Excellent people.
