Cocina De Mino Rest Mexicano

I must say that overall, I was not impressed with my experience at Cocina De Mino. I had heard good things about it, and they’ve been in business for a long time so I decided to give them a try. It is very easy to find, and is located just off Route 66 in a large shopping center with ample parking. But I found the service very lacking, and the food overpriced and average at best. Much tastier Mexican fare at a better value can be had at almost any of the other nearby Mexican restaurants, and there are plenty to choose from in this area. I dined alone, and they had only one other family in the whole restaurant while I was there. The family was very boisterous - children screaming and throwing food, and arguing adults. I could hear them before I even got through the front door. Though their behavior was certainly not the fault of the restaurant, there was plenty of room for me elsewhere but still I was seated RIGHT next to them. My waitress basically ignored me. She visited the noisy table next to me several times without even looking at me, much less checking in on me. I ran out of chips, dip and my beverage. She only visited my table 3 times - once to take my order, then to deliver my food, and in the end to bring me my check, after which she disappeared. Good thing I paid in cash and did not need change, there’s no telling how long I could have waited to sign a credit card receipt. I am very easy to please and rarely have a bad review for any restaurant, but this is a place to which I do not plan return. I will do business with Diegos on Route 66, Los Amigos on MacArthur, El Rodeo on 50th, Casa Perico on 63rd, or Nino’s on NW Expressway before I come back here.
