6720 Riverside Dr., Dublin, OH 43017
In the late 1800's on these same grounds, lived a couple of rough and rowdy Scotsmen named Shamus Digger and Paddy Finch. These fellows were known to "love the pint" and often to be found in the famous old street brawls of early Dublin, Ohio. Such friends these lads were, legend has it that Digger once married two women in one week! But "Saints Preserve Us"!!! Finch being a bit shy, and a wee little fellow, took the second wife and married her himself. He trusted Digger's taste, and wouldn't any good Scotsman do the same?!!
Digger and Finch were always together, most times either causing trouble or helping each other out of it. But Aye, folks loved the lads and their Scottish Tales! Legend has it that Digger and Finch stole one of the very first cars from a Broad Street dealership, but being a bit daft, Paddy Finch left his horse tied up to the hitching post in front of the store, and they were soon hauled off to jail in the old Dublin "Paddy Wagon"!
There have been pubs as long as there have been Scotsmen, and Digger and Finch loved the pub life. Havens, where friends gathered, tales were embellished, wagers entered, news exchanged, treason hinted, and music enjoyed. Over pints of brown porter, and endless cups of tea, the tales of Scottish life were spun. Folks shared laughter and tears, celebrated victories, mourned defeats, woke the dead, and kept their history alive right here on these samegrounds. We invite you to join us in keeping the "Old Boys" grand tradition alive.
DIGGER AND FINCH PROUDLY SHARE THE WARMTH, THE HEART, AND THE SOUL OF SCOTLAND WITH YOU.
