Addison Restaurant Guide

Dovie's did not honor reservations made and secured by a deposit. I reserved a room at Dovie's Restaurant for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. Dovie's required that I send in a deposit to secure the room and protect them in case I cancelled. I sent in the deposit as they asked. Weeks later I received a call from Dovie's. To my shock they were calling to cancel my reservation - no matter that it left me without anywhere to hold my party for my parents. They advised me that another party that they were having had grown in size and they needed more space to accomidate them so we simply could not have the room. They refused to honor the reservation despite my objections. I guess I should have required them to send me a deposit to assure that they would meet their obligations! Dovie's has certainly lost me, my family and friends as customers. I am now scrambling to find another suitable place for this party. If you book an event at Dovie's I would recommend you require them to sign a contract so that you have recourse should they elect not to live up to their end.
