My dad makes extra trips back home to Kenner just to have mandarin chicken (extra rice and gravy). It's his favorite and he craves it every day! Thank you Fongs for making your restaurant the only chinese restaurant he enjoys dining in. May you stay open for many years to come!

I grew up in Metairie and miss fong's maderine chicken........I've had many great foods in my life, but this, this is to die for. Trust me and eat some for me. IF YOU GO THROUGH LIFE WITHOUT HAVING TRIED THIS MANERINE CHICKEN, YOU DID NOT LIVE.

Best chinese food in this area. Ms. Mae (Mama Fong) has taught many of the other cooks in the area. Mae, Lily, William, and Judy are wonderful people. The egg rolls are the best in the country. A great family restaurant.
What this restaurant lacks in cleanliness totally makes up for in quality and taste. Ms. Mae is so friendly and sincere. You feel like family. The food is very good and fresh. I have been eating there for several years and have never had a bad meal.
this place was awesome and i have gone back at least twice a week already

March 16-2008 We just got back from Fong's for our favorite "Hot and Sour Soup", "Fong's triple treat" and Mandarin Chicken. Of course with house fried rice- not the steamed rice. Sunday evening- the place is almost deserted as people have finished with the St. Patrick's day parade and are into the bars. Miss May is cooking. It is still as good and crisp as we remember. We have had "hot and sour soup" all over the world- and we keep coming back here. No abmience to speak up- just good neighborhood food. We are seeing the third generation of this family in the restauant now. Just go bay and give it a try. The opening is on the side street- not williams. Ms. May said many of their faithful customers have scattered to all over the US after Katrina. So it is way past time to build another faithful customer base.
We just got in the car- drove from the convention center area (where we are at a meeting) and went to the airport area. Fong's is the best part of having lived in New Orleans and had a small business in Kenner. People remember you and talk is of local affairs.

We have been eating at Fong's since it opened in the 70's. It is your excellent, neighborhood dining experience that we expect from New Orleans. We ate there almost every day for 10years. Their triple treat, manderin chicken, and "hot and sour" soup are on our list every time we are back in New Orleans. Just a very short drive from the airport. Nothing fancy- just good food.
