I love good German food and have eaten at Glunz a few times in the last 3 years. Mostly I've been satisfied at the place. This last time, however, I was quite disappointed. There were tiny flies in my salad (no kidding), and the service was definitely not up to par. We had to ask the waitress to set our table, to bring sugar, to bring salt and pepper, etc. several times. Her english wasn't that good and she couldn't answer our questions very well. I will admit that our entrees were good (sausages, kraut and potato salad). We were overcharged due to confusion over the way the menu is written and our waitress' poor english, and had to argue with the owner who would not lower our bill over this stupid issue. All of this left us with a negative feeling. I don't think I'll go back here for quite some time. WHERE ARE THE GOOD GERMAN PLACES IN CHICAGO ANY MORE ??

Was treated here for my birthday. I thought the food was delicious; a good variety; pleasant waitstaff. Highly recommended.

Bije's has the absolute BEST thin crust pizza on the Northwest side of Chicago, if not in Chicago alone! I should know since we owned and operated our own pizza place for several years. Service is outstanding, and everyone is very friendly and I ...

Not exactly the best place for a family with younger children, but great for a group of friends to hang out. Equipped with a full bar and your choice of outdoor or indoor dining, this would be a wonderful place to host a party. The price range is gre ...
