Had an excellent dinner. The seafood was well prepared and the veal marsala was spectacular. The ambiance was not up to the level of the food. Eating off of formica tables is not the greatest for an anniversary dinner. Value is very good with all entrees under $20 with appetizers under $10. Invest in some tablecloths and some upholstered chairs and it will be the best value in Pittsburgh. Overall, very well done

Visited the Gran Canal Caffe last evening. After waiting for 5-10 minutes for the hostess, she advised us that she would clean off a table for us. While she was cleaning the table, she became involved in a conversation with a seated customer. We waited another 5-10 minutes for the conversation to end; it never did. We left the restaurant.

The hot wings are good just a little salty, they have a good crispy consistency. There pizza is a lot better than what the other reviewer said. Their prices are ok. The owner is a nice guy.

The food is consistently wonderful. Michael and Antoinette never falter in personalized hospitality. Since I live nearby, we have been fortunate to frequent Gran Canal. Michael has taken the time and interest to learn how I enjoy some of my favorite dishes prepared, and has never been offended if I ask for a slight twist to a dish. He and Antoinette love being host, hostess and chefs, and we have come to love them as well.

I love coming here, seems like we took the Concord right straight to Italy, love the pasta pescatore, veal scappopine and Michael (looks like Robin Williams) and Anntonette are just like family, we love ending our meal with a Lemocella made by Michael himself, Gracious, Bon Appetite
