We have been patronizing the Grand Finale for many, many years because we loved it. After having dinner there this evening, I'm sad to think that 'things have changed for the worse'. On a special occasion, with an 80 yr. old friend picking up the tab with her limited funds, the salads were not crisp and fresh; the onion soup had lost its out of the ordinary quality; the crepes were well overdone; and the pistachio crusted salmon was non-descript. Because it was our older friend's special treat for us, we didn't want to make a 'big deal' out of complaining/sending items back to the kitchen. Was this just an 'off' evening or have things really changed at the formerly terrific restaurant?
