Durham Restaurant Guide

We couldn't wait to try this place on the weekend when they push the cart for Dim Sum. The parking lot was jam packed and we thought there would be a ling wait. However we were pleasantly surprised to find out that this place is bigger than it looks on the outside. We were immediately seated at a large table in the back room. The Dim Sum was good and fresh. You and point to what you want or ask for something that is not currently out on the carts. Overall, the experience was good but for the Triangle area it would definately be one of the best!

I came here and tried the Don Tot and roast pork buns, which were both very good. Will be coming back for more soon.

I've been so deprived in the Triad of a Dim Sum place that I was very elated to find Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant. The shrimp crepe was very good, I snapped a picture of it in my review. I ordered several other Dim Sum items and they were all very good. The only odd thing that stood out was their West Lake Soup. Although it was still a good soup, it wasn't the authentic West Lake Soup that I am used to. Overall, I find this restaurant very authentic, and since we are moving to Mebane, we will definitely be back soon on the weekends to try the Dim Sum carts.

Dim Sum, yum! Week days it's only available at lunch only by order. Well worth the wait for weekend Dim Sum. Selecting from the carts as they make their way from the kitchen through the dining areas is a true pleasure.

Saw the previous review and gave it a try thinking I'll be able to get Dim Sum. Unfortunately they only serve Dim Sum on weekends. My family and I tried their other dishes and they were okay for authentic Chinese food. The vegetables where a bit tough signifying the age of the veggie. I will try again for their Dim Sum and see how they are.

This is a plain restaurant in a simple area of Durham. Inside, you'll also find meager decor, but the dim sum is the BEST in the state. With its world class cuisine, Hong Kong Restuarant is a must-visit for any person with a hunger for authentic Chinese food.
