I have eaten Sushi all over SC and Inakaya's rates as the best by far. Ryo and Louis are a blast behind the counter and will drink saki or beer with you as you dine. Key items: Look for the daily specials on the board behind them (often they have items you just cannot get at other Columbia area Sushi bars)and if possible get yourself a Ryo Maki, a custom roll taylored to your tastes. The other key is the family atmosphere here. It is not a wanna be hip, cooler than thou corporate place and that is a good thing.

Inakaya is our favorite Japanese in Columbia. Everything we have tried has been fantastic!
My husband and I have a date night once a week and this is the place where we enjoy the food, environment, and service. Excellent choice for any day of the week!
Always a great experience with the food here and service. Ignore the negative reviews; this pplace is consistently rated as one of the best sushi restaurants in Columbia for a reason.

My favorite place to eat--We have been going to Inakiaya sine 1998 and it is the best Sushi Restaurant in Columbia. The chef are extremely friendly especially Rio; he is the best and of course Louis is adorable. My husband says he feels like he is on vacation whenever we eat at Inakaya-- Would highly recommend this restaurant. Once you eat Sushi at Inakaya you can't eat it anywhere else.

The food is really great. good sized portions. The servers and chefs are all very friendly.VERY clean. The place is also extremely kid friendly. Ambience is very traditional japanese.
Inakaya is a weekly favorite for me...the sushi chefs there are happy to do their job...happy to take a shot of saki with you...and happy to make any roll you want...the waitresses are dressed authentically and the decorations are authentic and the party rooms have seats on the floor...the smoke squid salad is fantastic and my favorite roll besides the philly roll is the dragon roll...I love eel...enjoy!!!
