My wife and I stumbled onto this small, storefront restaurant one rainy evening and enjoyed one of the more romantic dinners we could imagine. Jackson Fillmore is not a pricey, upscale establishment, but the combination of the bustling waitstaff, steamy windows, soft Opera music and lovely, well-prepared dishes really worked. We sat at the counter, next to the open kitchen, and chatted with the cooks and all of the servers while sipping a nice red. We shared several dishes -- all very good -- and watched as the restaurant slowly filled. It is a clean, well-lighted place that emphasizes good food and friendly service. Just wait for a misty Bay Area evening, settle in at the counter and enjoy.
