The Linn Street Cafe is the most romantic restaurant in Iowa City. My wife and I dined there last week for our 5th anniversary. Everything was great, my wife loved the scallops and had baileys white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. I had the huge ribeye and the creme brulee both were awesome. We have tried many places in Iowa City but nothing comes close to the Linn Street Cafe.
My family and I really enjoy our experiences here. The service has always been spot on. The food from soup to main dishes are excellent. Such a variety, we have a vegan a vegetarian and meat eaters in our group and there is something for everyone.
On a rare visit to Iowa City, I decided try something different for lunch. While not fantastic, Masala Indian Vegetarian was indeed a new experience, in that it's both vegetarian and Indian, and definitely worth trying.

We chose his restaurant during our romantic get away. The prices were extensive with extremely small portions. My husband, who is NOT a big eater, left feeling hungry. I had a double house salad that proved to be the same size as his side salad, just served in a larger bowl. One glass of wine, the featured wine, was 15 per glass. When the server asked how everything was and we replied reluctantly that it was okay and then at the end with an outrageous bill, sorry was all that was stated. WHY do they ask??????

Only New York can surpass this cuisine. Call ahead for reservations and ask for a window seat. It's in the heart of downtown Iowa City, but just far enough out that it seems as if you're not downtown.
