As I walked up to the door I noticed it looks a lot like the front door of a house. When I walked in they greeted me and told me I could seat myself. The best part of it all is that if you have a favorite seat you can sit there! As I sat down they gave me a menu and right away I noticed that their history was written on the front as well as their one distinct rule that is unique to the diner, “Because we are tiny and the seats they are few, we request on occasion a table you share with a new friend or two.” After looking at the outside I opened it up and found out how unique the names for their breakfast menu were, for example: The caboose, water tank, Santa Fe, etc. Every breakfast item is served all day and their day begins at an early time of 6:00 A.M.!
After getting my drink order taken and brought back to me, I proceeded to ask their opinion on their food items. I asked the waitress what her opinion was on certain food selections and assessed on how open the staff member was about her opinion. She was very open about her opinion and knew all the items plus had eaten them before. That really surprised me on how well she knew all the items and had her own opinion on how they tasted or warned me about some that were spicy and that if I didn’t like spicy not to eat certain items. That personalization of service makes for a friendlier, more inviting environment which goes along the lines of how it is run.
This diner is family owned and makes a huge difference when it comes to customer service. They notice regulars more than a chain restaurant would and most of all are always making sure your drink is filled and asking how your day is going so far.
My food was brought by this time and my first bite was amazing. I had the Santa Fe which is a breakfast burrito and it was really good! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who would enjoy a nice laid back environment. Remember to smile and have a good time there! They love smiling faces.
