I've been to Morrison's at 81st and Ashland about 2 dozen times in less than 6 months. I was raised in the south and Morrison's is the real deal. I've tried almost everything they have and the worst that can be said is they need more servers to handle the 30-40 person line waiting when they're busy. Even then, it only takes about 30 minutes to get through the line. They do soul food righteously and serve it quickly.

To the person who felt rushed, how much longer do you want to stand in line?

As for 'attitude', they've been nothing but friendly to me every single time. I've taken family and friends there and we all agree there isn't a better place to get great soul food in heaping amounts at an excellent price.

To the person that said the food was nasty, you are thinking about the restaurant down the street. Morrisons doesnt use White gravy, and the BROWN gravy we do have is placed on your food as requested. i love my job and the food we serve.

I had the best experience at Bellona's Pizza. I do not agree with the comment above. Bellona's Pizza has been around since 2001, and I have been ordering from them since then on a regular basis. The vegetables are always fresh cut, they never use can ...

I had a pizza carryout from Bellonas tonight; cheese, sausage, mushroom, onion and garlic. One of the most popular remarks when rating a pizza is the crust. You either like thin and crispy or thick and doughy. I ordered a thin crust since I dont care ...

Loved the fried green tomatoes, the smothered pork chops. Very good, everyone loved it and the music was out of this world.

Great Chicago deep dish pizza!! It hasn't been around since the beginning of time....but they have it figured out, and alot less wait time. Lots of flavor to the pizza with plenty of toppings, and the owner actually spends time in the restaurant an ...

The food is excellent. I love how everything is full of flavor. Just as soul food should be. Now, I really don't like the ambience of the restaurant, but the place is clean. The food is why you go there, not the decorations. This is one of the city hidden secrets for Good, Authentic, Flavorful, huge portions of everything, place to go for Delicious "Food for the Soul"!!!

I don't think you went to the right place, lady. Morrison's is always good. Better than good. Morrison's is delicious. If you want some good soul food with big portions for reasonable prices, you need to eat at Morrisons.
