What an iconic place for Fort Wayne. After growing up eating these and moving away to Colorado, I always look back to trips back just to stop by and have some burgers and chili. It doesn't get any better.

I graduated high school in '66 and haven't been back since college. The burgers were grilled with sliced onion and the chocolate shakes were to die for.

Powers Hamburgers is amazing. I have always gotten the double hamburgers. Their pricing on everything is so good it is easy to eat a lot and still keep most of your money in your wallet. Personally best is 7 DB hamburgers

These days, using fresh meat is quite unusual and to watch them being grilled right in front of me was awesome. I was quite impressed. Just a little quick stop of a place. Charming !

I grew up on Powers. They are the best snack around, and the chili is great also. I am going back to Fort Wayne in Oct 07 for a week and will be eating there quite often.
I grew up on Powers when I was in high school, we would go there after the bars closed so that great greasy burger would settle our stomaches. There should be an entry for powers in a "Food for the Soul" book. I now live in Madison, WI and was there 2 weeks ago and ate 5 cheesburgers- my personal best!
I grew up on Powers, I can remember my dad driving 45min and getting 5doz.We would snack on them for days. There is nothing better then getting in your car the netx day and smell the sweet smell of Powers.I now drive 45min to get a Fix of power. Don't forget there chili. It's #1!!!

Just incredible. You, your breath, your clothes, your car, your office, your wastebasket...everything will retain the memory for days....maybe weeks if you're fortunate. Had the cherry chip cake for dessert. I noticed a haunting, almost barnyard aroma (like in a great Pinot Noir) waifing up from the cake, no, the frosting. It was difficult to place until the next day when i finished off the leftovers. Onions! That's what it was. The cake, like anything else the gets inside this terrific eatery, absorbed and retained that wonderfully sweet aroma of onions cooking on the grill.
I travel to Fort Wayne about twice a year to see my dad and the one place we go to is Powers. Not just once but as many times as possible before I return home. The big guy with the glasses is always workin there. He's the king of Powers!

Powers Has been my Family's Favorite Place for years. My Grandma Worked there when I was a kid I loved it there. They have the best burgers in the world they may be small but the are great. i'm 28 now I have been a customer for 25 Years. I Travel from my Home 2-3 times a year to goto powers useally around Major Holidays..
The only way I could like Powers any more is if there was one in my house. I frequently take the twenty minute trip downtown to get their cheeseburgers, sometimes even twice a day. One of the best part of the "Powers experience" would have to be sitting as close to the cook as possible to watch him quickly make twenty-five cheese burgers in the time it would take me to make one.

Many years ago I grew up in Ft Wayne and lived down the block from this great diner. Last year my son took his family back to where he was raised and they ate at Powers. My grandson cannot wait to go back-he still raves about the hamburgers, It is nice to know that some things stay the same!

I've had Powers one time and once is all it took to get hooked. I was out visiting a friend and Powers is her favorite place and while she was at work I was helping her parents move some stuff and once we were done he asked whether I liked hot dogs or hamburgers, I said hamburgers and he took us there. It was SSSSOOOO GGGGOOOOOOODDDD!!!! I asked if I should tell her and they said "No, she'll be able to smell it" and sure enough she did, now that proves how unforgetable Powers is!

I go weekly to Powers on Harrison. I have been going there for several years. It is truly a "slider" joint, which you just can't find anymore. They have great pastrys from New Haven Bakery brought in daily, and the best burgers ever. They are addictive, and when people come to visit, I take them to Powers for the overall experience. White Castle is not in the same league. These beauties are hand formed, fried up right in front of you, and cooked to order (cheese, extra onion, hot sauce and mustard please). I hope they stay open for many more years. Usually see elderly people in there that have been going there for up to 30 years!

I tried Powers Hamburgers for the first time today and I have to say these are the best tiny hamburgers I have ever had and they are way better than White Castle's hamburgers!

I have not been to Powers in years, but how much could a good (true) burger joint change? My first experience (in 1982, no doubt) started when a friend stopped talking in mid-sentence & with a glazed look in his eyes just muttered, "Powers!" I had no clue & thought he lost his mind or channeling something. He snapped out, started the car & flew us down there @ 1am. I WAS HOOKED!! Too bad I no longer live in the Fort. The closest thing for me is White Castle and it pales, it PALES against Powers! You guys rocked then, and I hafta get back there and prove that you still do! Thanks Powers for great burgers and great memories!

I grew up in Dearborn Michigan where the original Powers closed about 5 years ago. What a surprise to know that they had a franchise in Indiana. I love the burgers, they are the greatest. Hope to get back to Ft. Wayne soon.

A tasty mini burger-not a White Castle clone - but unique in its own right. A great tasting little burger with a squirt of ketchup, mustard and stringy grilled onions dangling from the edges - a little messy but that's part of the culinary enjoyment and reasonbly priced. A neat little mini burger joint - slowly becoming extinct from every day America sad to say.

Hamburgers with grilled onions are small but packed with taste. I suggest a bowl of chili on the side and a chocolate malt to top it off. Power's has been a tradition in my family for thirty years.
