I'd heard about Bonge's from several people. I was told it was a rickety tavern in the middle of nowhere with the best food anywhere. I went on a Saturday evening around five with a few friends. There was already an hour wait. The food surpassed my expectations and the service was beyond compare...
Where to begin? I have been to Bonge's Tavern with a large group on numerous occasions and have always had an incredible time. This is a roadhouse at the crossroads of two cornfields with all the ambience that "roadhouse" implies (plastic tableclothes included)... and then you are served 4-star dish...

GREAT SINCE THE NO SMOKING CAME INTO EFFECT! YOU USED TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE SMOKING SECTION TO GET TO NON SMOKING AREA, THEN PAY AT REGISTER IN SMOKING AREA, I QUIT SMOKING AFTER 38 YEARS AND REALLY APPRECIATE THE CHANGE AT THE TOAST WE WILL PROBABLY EAT THERE AT LEAST ONCE WEEKLY NOW!
My dad used to take me here when it was called Herds Pizza in the 70;s. The Sausge pizza is the best in the area. There Strombolis are the best out there.
