Haven't been to an Arthur Treacher's in probably over 20 years. Now I know why. It will probably be another 20, ( if there still in business ), before I go back again. I visited Treachers when over from the UK.
Now you guys in the US do some great food - but this wasn't it. The fish is NOTHING like the traditional UK food that is claims to be - nor are the 'chips'.
They claim to have purchased the original recipe from the 'first' fish and chip shop in the UK...
Every once in a while I need a fried fish fix and it doesn't get much better than Arthur Treachers. The staff was very friendly and the food was hot and tasty.
Just wanted to make a comment on what the other guy said about the cheese sauce. First of all, the cheese sauce wasn't on the menu to be used for chips. I was the second ingredient on the fish sandwich along with tartar sauce and a soft roll. The cheese sauce and chips was a back room invention that...

Nice Cozy atmosphere. Looks like an Old home. Family operation which gives it a warm feeling. Some of the best Coleslaw and Tartar Sauce I've had ever. Great Outside dining in the Summer.
