the big rib eye "aka the quaterback" is always excellent. has gotten to be quite pricy though. we have gone here for years and the quality is so consistent it seems like you get the exact same steak over and over again. a lubbock institution.
A great steak place. The blueberry muffins are the best. Have eaten there since it opened in the 1970s. Always consistent, always excellent food.

Excellent burgers. Fast and friendly service.
I have been to Cafe J on a number of occasions and have been met with a very snobby hostess crew each time...the only reason I have come back is because of the atmosphere and the food which are good. However I will not go back ever again. The lack of hospitality and service and feeling snubbed wil...
We went on a friday night and our reservation had not been taken which was very rude. Then we were unable to take advantage of the drink specials because we had a table in the restaurant. I mean come on it is the same restaurant you should be able to get a drink at the same price no matter where y...

Great Steaks! Wonderful beans, potatoe salad, coleslaw and cornbread bar! Not impressed with the BBQ. VERY EXPENSIVE!
Come to Carino's Italian Kitchen. I, Chris Williams (General Manager), personally invite you to enjoy our restaurant. We offer a festive atmosphere that features a show kitchen. In the past we have won the Avalanche Journal's Best Italian Food Catagory. Along with this accolade we currently ar...
You can't miss this restaurant when you are in Lubbock. The food is great. It is often very busy and loud, however the food is always delicious. We have driven 180 miles (one-way) before just to dine at this restaurant.
Large quantities of food and friendly staff make this place -- with the $2 margaritas -- a value for anyone who doesn't want to pay a lot for Mexican food, or alcohol.
service lousy, order wrong, chicken-fried steak tough
Poor service, poor preparation of food, lack of quality and the management has no clue how to fix the problem. I would not take my dog to this place.
We had a late lunch at your steak house today and it was the worse experince with your waiter and the magarita was the worse i had ever had and the price was high for the quaily of the drink. The steak was tough. My husband odered a kabob and it was tough. We complaned and the waiter did not even ...
We went here to celebrate my daughter's graduation from Texas Tech. The salad bar was truly outstanding and the bread was quite good. However, the Prime Rib (represented as a specialty of the restaurant) was mediocre at best and the steaks were absolutely horrible. Three of us ordered filet migno...
I used to live in Lubbock and would eat here at least two times a month and always had good service and excellent food. I raved and raved on how good the steaks are and, to my poor judgment, I found out that the food and the service has really gone downhill in the past year. My friend and I went to ...
This has to be the best place I've eaten in Lubbock. It has a great Salad Bar as well as Main Course Menu. A little pricey, but overall worth the $.
I have been going to Cattle Baron for a number of years now, and I must say that the Lubbock location is a wonderful place for just about any occasion. I was very pleased with the service, the food, and that overall atmosphere of this amazing restaurant! The bad reviews are often written by the cu...

The food is excellent; however, the service is just awful. We arrived at 8pm one evening (they were scheduled to close at 9pm) and there was only one other occupied table at that time. We were seated immediately, but we didn't even meet our waiter until 8:20. It took ten more minutes to get our drin...

My husband and I always rely on Chez Suzette when celebrating a special event. The food is superb and is a nice break away from the usual chains found around Lubbock. We highly recommend the Chateau Briand, although it does require 24 hours notice, this is a meal that is worth the wait! We have alwa...
Don't even bother. It was expensive, and wasn't very good. There was poor selection, and what they did have seemed to have been sitting out for a while.
