In 1994, the first Rice Garden restaurant opened in Long Beach, California featuring freshly prepared traditional Chinese and Asian cuisine. The founders, first generation Chinese-Americans, knew that they could deliver a more authentic-tasting style of Chinese food just as quickly and conveniently as the more popular Chinese fast food restaurants they'd visited in the area. They grew up enjoying the authentic Chinese food their parents prepared and wanted to share it in the tradition of true Chinese restaurants . . . with ample portions at a modest price. Customers soon realized that they didn't have to settle for pre-processed, re-heated foods just because their food was "fast," and so the business grew. 17 years and 40 plus restaurants later, Rice Garden remains passionate about freshness, value and taste. Though we've expanded our footprint, we still believe that doing it the authentic way is best. Our restaurants are now found in supermarkets, universities, malls, cafeterias and street locations. These days we're working harder than ever to deliver a great-tasting, authentic Chinese meal at a price that won't bruise your checkbook. Our popular Combo deals are a terrific value. And we remain committed to providing you with great customer service. At Rice Garden, our mission is simple: to provide our customers with an experience that exceeds their expectations. We invite you to our table to enjoy. Your chopsticks or ours...either work.
