We went not long ago with out of town family friends. The place was empty inside and there were about 6 tables outside with people. We asked to be seated outside and got a dirty set of tables and the worse service ever. Staff seemed overwhelmed and clueless. The managers reactions seemed like they were used to the problems but had no real explanations. We had 4 adults and 6 kids in our party. Put in order and proceeded to wait for food for over an hour. I actually walked into the kitchen to find a manager and have a word. They were apologetic but not friendly at all. It's difficult telling 6 kids to relax for an hour without food. These were out of town guests as well and we were soooo embarrassed to have chosen that place. They gave us a $50 dollar gift cert which I later auctioned off at a raffle just because we will never set foot there again. Go to Ruby Tuesdays---you get better food and service!Ricks has had bad reviews for ages and nobody does a thing to fix it. WE had tried them once previous to this encounter and the service was bad that time as well. Our family will never go back.

Dirty tables and floors...needs to be kept up. I took out of town guests from work and would never do that again! Ordered boatyard chopped salad, they should read how to make it on the menu! It says chopped roaine hearts tossed in blue cheese dressing with cucumber, tomato, tuscan beans, avacado, fried proscuitto, tortilla strips. I got iceburg lettuce, not tossed in dressing, mushy cucumbers, no beans (he said they were out when he sat the plate down), BLACK and BROWN, mushy avacado, fried bacon and pieces of stale tortilla chips.

The orders were wrong, the tables were dirty, the staff was overwhelmed and this was a holiday weekend. Clean up the place and get the orders right. This is s prime spot on the river and could be a great place with some soap, water and a paint brush.

On 8/9, I called the restaurant at approximately 10:45 am to make a reservation for 7 pm the same evening for two guests. I spoke to a male who took my name and time. I asked for outside seating and he said they did not specifially reserve outside but "two people should not have a problem gaining seating." When my guest and I arrived at 6:55 pm, we were told "no reservations were made in my name and they did not take reservations for parties of only two people." If this is indeed the rule, then I am fine with that but I would have booked a reservation elsewhere. They asked me who I spoke to (how would anyone know who answered the phone when making a reservation)? They then said it "must have been Eric" and they went to ask him if he recalled speaking to me. Instead of coming over and apologizing for the error, he told them to tell me that he remembered telling me they did not take reservations for two people. The three young girls and the male working at the reservation area were rude.I was with my guest and was embarrassed at the way I was treated by staff - it was as if they thought I was lying (I tried to explain that the guy took my name and the time and never mentioned they did not take a reservation for two etc). When I asked to speak to the manager, the staff said he "was busy." Apparently there was a misunderstanding but staff was extrememly rude and I was embarrased as this occured in front of customers as well. I am fine with restaurant rules etc. but Eric failed to inform me of this and they could have been more understanding and professional. The food was lukewarm and the service was slow - because it was a Saturday night, I can deal with this but the behavior of staff was extremely unprofessional and I will never eat at this restaurant again - there are some wonderful restaurants in Omaha and we do have better choices!

In from Raleigh, NC for the CWS and visited this restaurant for the second time. Last time was pretty good but this time we thought perhaps the place was going out of business. To say the service was poor would be putting it mildy. Food was mediocre and drinks were watered down. We have found several very nice restaurants in Omaha that we put on our list of places to go each year. Rick's Boatyard will not be one of them next year.

The food was average, but unfortunately we left our credit card on the table without realizing. We called later when we realized it was missing and the restaurant claimed they didn't locate it. Next thing we knew, we had $600 worth of fraudulent charges on our credit card. Its our assumption that a bus boy picked up the card and went on a shopping spree. We called again and they were very rude when we told them what happened.

Truly a shame that what was once considered to be an Omaha attraction has now deteriorated to something less than a neighborhood bar.

Please save yourself the hassle and do not eat at this place! Being the only business by the river, they have the chance to shine, but, sadly, come up drastically short. The 3 teens bumbling with the reservations at the hostess desk were quite rude, and they seated us on the patio at a filthy and flimsy plastic table - near the bus boy station overflowing with dirty dishes. Our waitress was overwhelmed and had no concept of small talk or polite people skills, the bartender had no idea how to make a basic drink, and the food was no different than what you'd find at Denny's or Perkin's, but it was priced as if it was straight from Emeril's kitchen. The party of 6 seated at the table near us became visibly ill during their meal, and my husband and I both walked away with stomache aches. All in all a terrible experience!

We spent an evening at the Boatyard for our daughter's birthday and had a wonderful experience. The food and service were wonderful and I was excited to see some new menu items- the sauteed duck breast was excellent.

I,ve eaten at your restaurant several times and the food and service were great. I stopped in Friday, Oct. 19th around 5 PM, to have a glass of wine while waiting for an arrival at Eppley.

When I walked in the front door, the smell that hit was a cross between sewer gas and dead fish.
Very unappetizing.

While attending a summer conference we stumbled upon this restaurant. It is an easy walk from the center. The ambience was great. One time for lunch we ate outside overlooking the river and another time in the dining room. Both times the food was delicious. They have several dishes to accomodate vegeterians. Overall a great time, and we will go back again
