I was at the Fire Mountain Restaurant in Pensacola, Fla at 5:30 pm today, June 29, 2004.
I was very disappointed in the food quality. The corn on the cob was cold, the fried chicken was cold, but what really upset me was the crab salad was spoiled. When I told the manager, he said it had been made fresh that morning. There is no way that was fresh. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. I like crab salad and I know what it should taste like. They had catfish and hushpuppies also. The hushpuppies were not done on the inside. You could tell that the oil they fried them in had to be too high of a temperature because they were burned on the outside, gooey on the inside. The fish was hard on the outside. I work in food service so I know what I am talking about. I will never eat at that restaurant again. At least the manager could have said, I will check the salad out and get back with you. He acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. The dessert bar was just about bare. The girl working behind that was more interested in spraying a bundt ban then looking to see what was empty. The banana pudding was just about gone, one pie was completely gone, the peach cobbler was just about empty. The only thing that looked even decent was the ice cream. The M & M's they had out for that were melting. It was a horrible experience. I can understand maybe one or two things not being right, but not this many. And then to have a manager that didn't care to understand what the customer was saying. As we were leaving, we saw the manager go over the the salad bar and pull the crab salad off. He should have done that when I told him. He could have at least checked it out when I made the complaint. Poor service, poor food quality. I will not go back again. You have lost a customer and I will tell others the experience I had there.
