a diner from Morganton, NC
My experience tonight reminded me why I rarely eat out. I was greeted with a "hi", then silence, I initiated the next, "2 for non smoking", we waited so long for out waitperson that we were getting up ready to leave when she came by to bring menus, we had to ask for peanuts. My wifes steak was decent but my "prime rib" what was not fat was tender. House salads were skimpy at best. Cleaniness: I suppose the mop strings on the floor indicated that it had been mopped at sometime or another. The table next to us was clean, I watched the staff wipe the mess onto the floor. When we were finished eating, I had to go find our waitperson who apologized over and over about the delay, way overworked and understaffed. When I spoke to the manager on duty her response was, "I'm sorry". Will I eat at the Sagebrush Steak House and Saloon in Morganton again? NEVER!!! I don't have $40.00 to waste on such an experience. I felt sorry for our waitress, she did the best she could under the circumstances.
