Savannah Restaurant Guide

This place is great. The food is terrific, the people are nice, and it is hard not to enjoy it.

My bestfriend and I went here one night and it was her first time easting sushi. I forced her to try it and then sometime later both of us were hit with food poisoning. After telling my parents about it my dad said that he also had gotten food poisoning from there. BOOOOO Also my boyfriend and I recently went there and both ended up walking out.. I asked for wine and it was obviously stale. Then I said just get me a bud light and they brought me a budweiser and I only like bud light so BOOOO. My boyfriends food looked horrible and tasted like it too, and that is being nice. Get it together.

First, id like to note that my family has been going to this restraunt on Broughton St. for QUITE some time now. We`d go atleast once a month! They never noticed us or recognized us or atleast thanked us in anyway. The lady at the desk who is supposedly the managers wife is RUDE!! Never smiles. Now, my last experience is what I would like to share with everyone on here because seriously, it was UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!

My boyfriend was visiting my family and we decided to make one of our trips to Sakura with my uncle, aunt, and cousin. We got there, we were seated, ordered drinks except i asked for no ice, the waitress forgot, i let it go. She didnt give me any eating utensils nor did she check/notice If anyone was missing any. She never brought our appetizer. They were NOT busy at all this night! So when her friends came to eat at the restraunt it was as if she had completely forgotten about us because she kept sitting with them we kept yellin "excuse me" first time, my boyfriend finally got up and asked her for the extra dishes we wanted to order. NEXT we finally we got another waitress' attention and instead of bringing our shrimp tempura. She brought shrimp tempura ROLL. Also the kitchen is right behind us, people from there are walking in and out with dirty buckets and stuff. Ehh, please, Im a clean freak!

My mom (who is asian as well) goes to pay for the bill but asks the owners wife WHY THEY GAVE US A 25% GRATUITY CHARGE?! our meal all togehter was around $120~130!!! My mom says ive never seen anything like this. The lady respones "you should know" and turns around. Next my dad goes up and asks them about it, OBVIOUSLY to reduce it because it is INDEED ridculous! BUT a WAITER comes up and calls him CHEAP!!!!!!.... are you KIDDING me? so of course as we were ready to exit everyone started to get very angry with this situation. The waiter was yelling at us, telling us to shut up, to just leave, yelling at women in their FACES and all the other employees stood around. The manager and his wife both knew what was taking place and did NOTHING. The boy ended up calling the police. What for? We didnt care we did nothing wrong. Turns out you dont have to give them ANY gratuity! NOR did they have it posted anywhere on their menus or anything. They said they decide on gratuity depending on the # of people and how much work they do for them. UMMM.. whatever! I will never go to this place EVERRR again. (P.S. the police officers had said they dont go there anymore either for similar reasons).

What a wonderful place! Food was cheap, but the lady at the front of the store was unpleasant. Frank was our server. He is sexy!!!!!!!!!

On a number of occasions, newly arrived international students who are not fully aware of the US tipping custom, have left no tip or an inadequate tip. When they receive their credit or debit card statements, they are surprised to find that the restaurant has added a tip. Last I heard, although tips are expected, they are still voluntary. Savannah Police calls this illegal.

I usually love eating here, but the woman at the desk who takes the bills is such a turn off. She is unfriendly, does not smile, say thank you, or anything. Also you can't change your drink after you order it, (ie a sweet tea to rootbeer). They will charge you for both. I have never heard of a restaraunt doing this before, but I complained, and the woman at the front would not even hear what I had to say and just mumbled and ignored me. I will not be going back.

We have ordered take out from this restaurant on three occasions. Twice we had it delivered and it was very prompt and the food was still warm. On the other, we ordered there and took it home. They were very fast, friendly, and had a number of suggestions for our dining experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!
