Sakura's its wonderful place that me and my mother have been going to when ever we can. the food is delicious, the show is spectactlar and the cooks are suckers for a cute face. i was expecting a Valcano (flaming an onion) but the cook forgot to do it. i made a comment about it to my mother and the cook went out of his way to go get another onion to do the valcano just for us. Sakura's is the best.

My husband and I have been going to Sakura's for the past 10 years+. We find that satff to be very friendly, they refer to us by name as we walk in and even remember my typical drink order :). The food is quite wonderful and extremely reasonably priced.

FORGET THIS PLACE -- IT IS NOT WORTH IT!! Compared to its sister restaurant Scott's 205th Bar and Grill this place is a dumping ground. Small portions, slow inattentive wait staff. Mostly a pretentious place not worth wasting your money on

My husband and I have been going to Sakura for many years. However, we took a break from Sakura for a couple of years due to a move. We had the opportunity to dine there again just the other night. This was not the pleasent Sakura we use to enjoy. The staff isn't as friendly. The cook didn't put on any show at all. And you feel rushed through the meal. The staff almost felt inconvienienced that you came for dinner. Oh well, we will not be dining there again anytime soon.

We have been going to Sakura for 23 years and still go for Birthdays and other special occasions. It may not be a nice fancy restaurant but it makes up for it in quality and quantity of food and we have never had an issue with the customer service! We will keep going back as long as it is still there!

We are a military family so we have dined at several Japanese Steak House, this was the worst we have ever been to. We seen our waitress twice during the meal and never received refills for our drinks til we were ready to leave. The rice was not fried on the grill but brought in a bowl..spilling the sticky mess all over the table, along with paying $22 for a plate of 6 tiny shrimp and 6 tiny scallops..WHAT??? You definitely do not get what you pay for. I can pay much less and get a better meal at Applebees! Our check for 5 was $125 and everyone was hungry an hour later...waste of my time and money, we will never go again!!

I have been going to Sakuras since I was a child. For the past 19 years I have enjoyed them however they have declined a tad bit in food, show, and overall quality but it is still a great restaurant. Now if you're looking for a calm place to eat where you don't feel rushed like someone mentioned earlier DO NOT go during dinner! They are normally very packed and you'll prob have to wait upstairs. But this isn't that bad b/c you'll be able to enjoy conversation and drinks while you wait. If you go in the afternoons it'll be much more mellow..so your choice. Other than that plan on spending prob an avg of $20+ per meal. And you'll def want to ask for extra orange sauce! There have been many times I would drive down there just to pick up the sauce to have with the dinner i made at home.

I always feel like I'm getting spoiled every time my family and I go to Sakura's. The food is excellent, their sauces are to die for, and the servers are very attentive to the customers. For those who have bad experiences, I recommend you try it again, you might be pleasantly surprised.

We had the best dinner ever at Sakura's. We were lucky enough to get the head chef, Ryan and what a great chef he is! He has a great personality and the food was delicious! We will return again and again as long as we get Ryan to cook for us again!

The original Japanese steakhouse for tacoma. This is your slice and dice flame bursting experience. Dishes range from $12-$40 and you won't leave hungry. Ask for extra orange sauce, you'll wanna take some home with you!

My family and I have been celebrating Easter at Sakura's for 16 years. The service and food have always been outstanding; the value cannot be matched. But as one other patron stated not all chefs are created equal -- once or twice the "show" has not been up to par.

I went to this restaurant with my wife and another couple and was extremely disappointed in both the quality of the food and the service. Arriving at 8:30 PM, we found the establishment to be in an industrial section of town and were a little surprised to see a security guard in front of the entrance. It seems that this is a high-school favorite. The wait staff and chef were adequate. The real problem was that the staff rushed you through your meal. Midway through the main course, the waitress brought out the dessert. Since it was ice cream, it was melted before we had a chance to enjoy it. We also never received our requested tea until after the meal. The two worst problems with this restaurant was the food and the management. The fried rice was beyond bad. The rice was over cooked and, to my disbelief, greasy! How can you destroy fried rice?! Also, I ordered a steak, which was clearly understood by all those around me. However, the waitress heard "steak and shrimp." Honest mistake I guess. The problem mushroomed when I tried to resolve the issue after the bill came. All the manager could say (rudely I might add) was "you ate it, you pay." The problem was, everyone gets shrimp. I got a few more than everyone else without realizing it. I thought the chef was playing a trick on my wife by giving me more than she received. My mistake I guess, but the manager wanted nothing of it. She wanted to argue over a $4 difference on the bill. This was by far the WORST dinning experience that my wife and I have ever had. I would highly recommend that you avoid this establishment at all costs. They have very poor food and an even worse attitude towards their customers.

Worst Japanese steakhouse I've been to, and I've visited many. The decor was tolerable but the floor was filthy and covered in food scraps. The food was totally Americanized. They don't make fried rice, they bring you a mound of buttered steamed rice. All the dishes are prepared with exorbitant amounts of butter, very little soy sauce, and no sesame seeds or oil which is totally unauthentic for a Japanese restaurant. The chef gave away half of my dining partner's meal to other guests "by accident" and made up for it with four puny shrimp. He didn't do ANY of the standard "tricks". He also questioned me for five minutes about why I had requested that he not put any bean sprouts in my noodles--I think I am able to decide what foods I like, thank you! And he refused to give me mushrooms instead. The waitress totally ignored us and we had to request that she refill the teapot. Then when we left a $1 tip to demonstrate our displeasure, she complained to the hostess in front of me in Japanese, thinking I couldn't understand her. I was probably the only Japanese person in the whole place, of course I understood her! I do not recommend this place to anyone who knows how a Japanese steakhouse SHOULD be run.

My kids absolutely adore this restaurant. They had so much fun that my son and 2 of his friends all turned 13 in Feb 2006 and had their party there. The wait staff catered to them by making virgin cocktails in souvenier glasses and made them feel special!!!

The food was decent but the service was horrible. Possibly one of the worst dining experiances I have had. The chef dumpped my husbands beer all over us, his food and my purse. Pricing was good compared to the other japanese steak houses I have been to however it seemed like this is where all the japanese steak house chefs get their start and training.

The food is to die for, nothing else compares to the standards of how the food is prepared and then served you. My kids love eating at Sakura's and whats funny about that is they are very picky eaters yet the clean there plates with no problems. (I think it's the shrimp tossing that keeps them wanting to come back;))

Great food and lots of it. The only thing I rate at 3 stars is the Value, but with what I pay at fast food joints these days the 15 to 25 you are going to pay here is worth the amount of great food and the show (most the time, all Chefs are not created equal) you are going to get. My kids love it.

Can not say enough about this restaurant! The food is excellent and the service has always been great. We have dined at this restaurant for nearly 20 years and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Sakura is a very nice place to celebrate a Birthday or other special event with friends and family.
