What this place lacks in ambiance it makes up for in 100% great sushi by (in my opinion) Tacoma's best sushi chef, Koji (formerly of Kabuki). My boyfriend and I hunted him down after hearing that he left Kabuki; we were rewarded by a meal of AMAZING spicy tuna handrolls, generous amounts of unagi in our Dragon Roll, and salmon nigiri with just the right amount of natural sweetness.
Don't let the location scare you away (located in a strip mall behind the Arco AM/PM on Center & South Adams in Tacoma). This place is all about quality sushi and no pretenses.

We have been going to Sakura for 23 years and still go for Birthdays and other special occasions. It may not be a nice fancy restaurant but it makes up for it in quality and quantity of food and we have never had an issue with the customer service!
