We eat a lot of Italian food and enjoyed our experience at Salute. We were the only ones there, and Tony, the owner, was more than accommodating. The homemade tortollini was great, as was the spaghetti. We didn't find the sauce anything that special, but BOY did we like the pizza (and we've owned 4 pizza shops). Great homemade crust and awesome cheese = I wanted more later that night. Tony had little wine on hand, but we drank what he had. He's a very friendly man with a natural smile and seemingly low blood-pressure that contributed to the overall experience being a good one. Hole in the wall...yes. But this man deserves our community's support. He told us the previous Friday he had no customers, which makes us very sad. Support Tony if you can — you won't be disappointed. (But you might need to bring your own bottle of wine!) We'll go back.

Hello. I would like to tell you about my favorite Italian restaurant. It could be described as a "hole in the wall", but it has authentic Italian food cooked by the authentic Italian owner and chef. The flavor is unmatched by any restuarant I have been to, including some very high priced well known names. If you want incredible authentic delicious flavor and can settle for what's available today, this restaurant will knock your socks off.
Salute Italian Ristorante 1007 N Post Rd Indianapolis, IN 46219 (317) 895-6923
Directions: Take I-70 to Post Road Exit (on East side of Indianapolis, just East of Highway 465), turn South onto Post Road. Go South to 10th Street. Salute is on the left (East) side of Post Road, North side of 10th Street (NE corner of intersection).
Menu: Be prepared to have one of the daily specials, or call a couple days early for special requests or large parties.
Personal favorites: I always love the daily pecial whatever it is. Some of my personal favorites though are: 16" pizza with everything on it, the lasagna, any pasta with the red sauce, the salad with home made dressing, and the home made bread.
Though I have not physically been to Big Mikes, the food that was catered into our office was wonderful. I plan on checking out their lunch menu and going there myself. The delivery person was probably the nicest I have ever seen. Totally recommend
...
Best lasagna I've ever had. Very cozy and quaint. Wait staff can be hit or miss, but it's always a personal experience. Both times I've been there the chef/owner has visited and chatted us up. A good "serious date" spot.
What a delightful dining experience. Professional servers who really make the experience wonderful. The paella was fantastic. The caprese salad was fresh and wonderful. The presentation of the food was beautiful. The grouper was unbelievable.
Just left Big Mikes and it was fabulous. The food was delicious, staff was very nice and it has a very laid back and relaxing environment. This place is very affordable too! I would recommend if you havent tried it out yet.........Do it!!!
