The Gainesville store on Waldo Road is the original but no longer owned by the Tillman family. We have eaten there since opened and it is a great value with great food and service.

Everything I ordered at 12pm was served cold. How can you serve macaroni & cheese cold an hour after you open- not even warm? This is the original Sonny's & it needs some work in the kitchen. On the sliced pork lunch ($6.49), the pork was nice- moist, fatty, but cold to match the cold fries & cornbread. The whole thing would be worth 4 stars if served hot. Get a new kitchen manager!

If you like greasy dark meat chicken then you have found the place you would like. But if you like white meat (breasts & wings) you won't find any here on their buffet.

The food was okay, but the service was horrible. The waitress was inattentive and she literally slammed our change and to go boxes because she thought her tip wasn't large enough.
