Seated in 5 min on a busy Friday night, but that's where the experience went sour. SLOW as Christmas service and preachy waiter with major attitude made me want to get up and leave. Decided to stay and ordered the BBQ Nachos and was NOT impressed - was cold and soggy. Pass on this place. From Atlanta and very sorry we chose Superior over the many other places on Beale. Avoid this joint...

We visited this restaurant as part of a "city tour". The tour guide said this was one of only two restaurants on Beale Street that he would recommend. We had a wonderful meal.. The "red beans and rice with sausage" was marvelous. Great service and full bar. Highly recommended.
My uncle and I celebrated his 85th birthday at Houston's and it was fantastic. However in the excitement of leaving the restaurant, I left my purse with my driver's license, major credit card, cell phone and all. I called back to the restaurant a s

Seven of us visited from Atlanta during Memphis in May 2008.Five were drinking at the bar spending lots. Two sitting at a table waiting on them. The waitress told us in a rude manner "you just can't sit at a table chillin"and would be asked to move if someone else came in.No consideration given to horrible storm outside or the five friends that we brought in that spent enough for themselves and us too.Superior showed poor customer service and I will never recommend their money hungry attitude to anyone.
The owner of this restaurant said to us, "If you don't like my ribs I'll buy them back from you." Well, let me tell you... there is no way I would sell back these ribs. If you're looking for a great place to eat ribs, eat at the only restaurant on Beal St. that has actual chefs. Superior bar is by far, SUPERIOR. I highly recommend this restaurant.
