OK, I hate to hurt anyone's feelings but.. .come guys. Its regular tex-mex. The food itself is nothing special at all. Service is very good. Tortillas are the only standout, otherwise its your basic beans, rice, burritos kinda place. Food isn't bad jut not anything special.
I have been here numerous times, and no other Mexican restaurant in Norman can hold a candle to Tarahumara's. Every time I go the food is delicious and the service is very fast. In high school, I was able to come here and eat on my short lunch break

Sorry, I had heard so much about this restaurant, but when I ate there, I was very, very disappointed. I ordered a Burrito Plate. For $11.95 I recieved a HUGE plate. On one side, they had spray-painted refried beans. On the other, there was an equal helping of rice, almost like they used a machine to get them on the plate??? In the middle, there was this small Burrito with a ground beef filling. It was worth maybe $4.95, if that. Not very good value for what I've had at other many fine Mexican Restaurants. Herraras Cafe in Dallas, comes to mind-------They have burritos STUFFED with real roast beef, smothered in either a sour cream sauce or a super tasty chili sauce.
It has now become a joke to my family when we go out to a Mexican Restaurant-------"ANYWHERE, EXCEPT TEDS!!!

My family and I was looking for a good Chinese restaurant to eat at tonight, and when we saw the huge number of cars at Teds, we were curious. So we went, and we didn't even mind the fact that the hostess said it would be a 30 minute wait, after all it was 6:30pm. Well, we were able to get a menu and pick what we wanted in advance, and I think it was only about 20 minutes. This was a Tuesday night, I can't imagine how long a wait it would be on a weekend. When the waiter found out it was our first time...he presented us with the works...flour tortillas, queso sause, salsa, relish and atomic sause. It was all the best I ever had. The waiter was Johnny on the spot at all times and exuded the confidence of the CEO of a fortune 500 company. The food was excellent. Everyone at our table had an awesome experience, even my youngest who doesn't like much in the way of food. We will definitely be coming back every chance we get, even though we are from Louisiana. There needs to be 2 of these restaurants in Norman.

We had a fabulous visit to Ted's. We came in from out of town and my brother said we had to go to Ted's. We had a great experience and everything was wonderful - the atmosphere, the service, and the food. When the waitress found out we were there for our first time and that we were from out of town, she brought us a bag with extra chips, tortillas, salsa and cheese sauce to take with us. Whenever we're back in town, Ted's will be the first stop!

This is the by far the best Mexican Restaurant I have ever eaten at. I live in Texas and frequently visit my granddaughter who goes to OU. She has been raving about Ted's Mexican Restaurant and wanted us to try it. We had a pary of eleven and I figured with such a large party our service would not be that great. To my surprise the service was outstanding. Not once did we have to ask for chips, tortillas, drinks or anything else for that matter. The food was the best I had ever tasted and I was really impressed with the personal servings of Salsa and Queso. Each one of us ordered different items and were all very pleased with the taste as well as the presentation of the food. From now on I will go to Ted's everytime I go to Norman.

I ate at the new Ted's in norman off of 35 and I have to tell you I was amazed at the level of service this restaurant provides. I never had to ask for a thing. I got free chips, cheese sause, & several kinds of salsa. I had the "Best Mexican Beef Tacos' and they were the best I have ever had. A manager by the name of David visited my table shortly after I sat down and welcomes me to Ted's for the first time. He also dropped off a scoop of guacamole. He made several silent trips by my table and then took the time to chat with me after my meal was complete. I don't see that any where in Norman. He was an exceptional manager and his attention to detail was out of this world. I have since been back twice and tell all of my Norman friends about the place.

I live in the Kansas City area but I'm originally from San Antonio, so I like to think I know a little something about good Mexican food. Everytime we visit my in-laws in OKC we have a mandatory meal at Ted's. I'll admit that the food is average to above average (in other words, I've probably had better at a few other places), but the service and the friendliness put it over the top. I have turned so many KC people onto Ted's on their trips through OKC and ALL of them have come back as Ted-aholics. Bring a Ted's to Lee's Summit and you'll make a mint!

We moved to Dallas from Oklahoma but always made a stop at Ted's anytime we came home. We now live near Washington D.C. and can't visit nearly as often, but Ted's is always one of the highlights of our trips back to Oklahoma. I've eaten Mexican food in Texas and tried many places in the Washington D.C. area. Nothing compares to Ted's! The Best!

My family eats at Teds once a month if not more. The staff is always friendly! As in food over price it is a great value! I have never once left Teds unsatisfied! It is worth the wait. The only problem is that we can no longer eat at any other Mexican resturant.
I visited Ted's on 2/16/07 and was initially turned off by the name and hostesses. Everyone there seemed to be Caucasian. What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn't have any Mexicans? After being seated I saw there are a number of Mexican servers and cooks but I was further turned off by a comment of the hostess that seated us. She had said something to one of the Mexican busboys and then said to us "I have no idea what they are talking about I just tell them what to do. By her words she implied that they were somehow inferior. So having said that it would be even harder for me to rate this place highly but I do. The Tortillas, chips and salsa that they serve you when you sit down are the best I've ever tasted!! The Tortilla soup and Chicken Quesadillas were melt in the mouth fabulous. The service was top rate. I LOVED THIS PLACE!! I just wish we had something comparable in the NE Ohio area. I will definitely be back to Ted's. Now if they can only educate their perky misguided hostesses.

I just have to say that those people below DO NOT know Mexican food! Your restaurant is definetly the best!! A+++!! On the Border is straight up TEX-MEX! Texans do not know what Gourmet Mexican food is and the cheese dip certainly doesn't taste powdery and cheap! I am greatful to have such a wonderful mexican restaurant in Ok because all the others have NO comparison! The service is always great too! Thanks! Brittney Davis

Let me assure you, the queso is not powdered... It is made fresh every couple of hours with real cheese(Velvetta), vegetables, and spices. We make everything fresh everyday for that matter and we are proud of it. I'm sorry you did not enjoy it however you should be more careful about your unfounded assumptions. If you would like to discuss it more or if anyone else has any questions I can answer please feel free to contact me.
Best, Ted.

I hear all the hype around this place, but wasn't too impressed. By far...not the best mexican food, but okay for Oklahoma standards. I still couldn't get over the generic powdered queso they serve. Give me the chain "On the Boarder" over this place anyday. Real mexican food is south of the red river.

Out of all the Mexican selection in OKC this was is the worst! The food was so bland I could not tell if I was eating beans or rice! No spices, no flavor, how the wait staff can tell the plates apart is beyond me, they all look alike. Had the Chicken Enchiladas, it only had dry chicken meat rolled in a tortilla. No seasoning, no onions, no enchilada sauce. Blah! Blah! Blah! I would not go back, I prefer somewhere I can taste the food and enjoy a Margarita!

Place was busy, but we were seated quickly. Staff was friendly and took care of us. Food was OK - about the same as most of the Mexican places around town. Fajitas were OK, but veggies were too well done. Very bland beer selection and no mixed drinks made it seem like a higher priced San Marcos.

I really love Ted's food and we took my parents there when they visited Oklahoma for the first time. However, even though they loved the food there was a busboy who was wiping his nose on his shirt continually and he served our table. My father and I both got sick shortly thereafter which we don't blame on that kid, but he should not have been working around people. It was very obvious he was wiping his nose and it was pretty disgusting. I will still go back, but if I ever see anything like that again I would be hesitant to return. The management needs to make sure their people are healthy. Anyone there could see this guy was sick.
Teds is not only the best Mexican food I have ever had but the best service. This restaurant prides itself on quick, thorough service. Queso, salsa, chips, tortillas, and your tea will NEVER go empty. They actually make regular service at other restaurants seem unacceptable!! :)
I go not only because the food is GREAT, but the service is amazing. The restaurant prides itself on quick, fast service. The tortillas, queso, salsa, chips, and tea NEVER go unfilled. It's amazing. They do it so well there, that normal service at other restaraunts seems unacceptable!

We had a large party and were forced to wait for nearly two hours. they refused to put two tables together.
