My girlfriend and I have been to Allegro Romano twice. Both times have been extraordinary experiences. Lorenzo, the host, treated us like we were long-lost friends. The food was top notch, as was the professional and friendly service. Our meal started with a free serving of Bruschetta, and ended with more than one glass of port (on the house) and a long-stem rose for my girlfriend. In between there was excellent food, and believe it or not, singing, led by Lorenzo, accompanied by our fello diners. Allegro has become the "must-visit" restaurant when we have friends in town.

This is by far one of the best Italian restaurants in North America. Reasonably priced and a true Italian experience.
Overpriced, smelly and really disapointing food. Burnt food and hearing lady moan at chef not to use Microwave... Really Really one of my worst dining experiences ever
Food is good, service is efficient and the view of the bay is just fantastic. I never grow tired of dining at Sinbads.. it has the freshest seafood Ive ever had. Oh, leave room for desserts, they're so good, too.
Italian comfort food at best. Great for groups.
Pastas, fish, meat course all reasonably priced with hearty generous portion. Service is always professional and friendly.
It is not touristy! They are all for fresh local produce :)

Pros: A local favorite, small/cozy, great staff, inviting atmosphere, good menu selections, good food & wine. Cons: Not inexpensive, food has been inconsistant in temp, flavor,'freshness.' Never not good but some pasta may be a bit bland,tomato/mozzarella seems pulled out of fridge, some dishes are not served hot enough. Basics: Make reservations, weekends are packed, dress bus.casual as jeans are a standout. Not a good place for kids. I go back because I really like the atmosphere and the food is good enough.
