I'd heard about Bonge's from several people. I was told it was a rickety tavern in the middle of nowhere with the best food anywhere. I went on a Saturday evening around five with a few friends. There was already an hour wait. The food surpassed my expectations and the service was beyond compare. I loved the contrast of the gourmet food and the roadhouse atmosphere. I'll definitely go back, only next time I'll bring my own wine and prepare to tailgate while I wait!

Where to begin? I have been to Bonge's Tavern with a large group on numerous occasions and have always had an incredible time. This is a roadhouse at the crossroads of two cornfields with all the ambience that "roadhouse" implies (plastic tableclothes included)... and then you are served 4-star dishes! Seriously, the food is nothing short of amazing - creative and complex. The appetizers are incredible - we always order at least one of each. They only take reservations for 10-14 people.

WORST SERVICE OF MY LIFE! I will be contacting the owners today as well, the service my mother and I recieved Fiday night (10-3-08) was absolutely unacceptable. Our waitress not only interrupted us constantly, but acted as theough we were inconveniencing her every time we asked a question. When we ordered, she smirked and said condescendingly, "you've obviously never eaten here, have you?" Later she set a hot plate of appetizers on my mother's hand and left it there and argued with us when we refused to give her the full 18% (we were with a large party) tip, calling her manager loudly across the room to, "come and talk to this lady." The manager argued with us about the tips as well. as we got up to leave, the waitress came running over with three dollars in her had , laid it on our table and said, "here are your three dollars back, you obviously need it more that I do." we could not believe that her manager backed her up rather than reprimand her for treating customers poorly!
