A long time (thirty-year) diner at Houston's Restaurants (Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, and New York City), I was brought back to heaven this evening at the Houston's in Metairie. In fact, I could have closed my eyes, and, with one bite of the house salad, known I was at a Houston's. The Roast Beef Au Jus was mouth-wateringly superb. The side order of iron skillet beans was to die for. I know, I know, who goes to a restaurant to order baked beans? This diner does when he's at Houston's. They're famous for them! Believe me, one taste, and you'll know why. I am ultra familiar with the history of the company, the kitchen standards, the service, and even received a thank-you gift certificate from the company's President a number of years ago. I would suggest you find out if/where there is a Houston's in whatever city or region you might be visiting...and GO! I've dined at some of New York City's (and other citys') most expensive and highly-rated restaurants, as well as on the Queen Mary 2 between New York and Southampton, and, if there is a more all-around satisfying 'dining out' experience than Houston's, this culinary expert has yet to experience it. Congratulations, Houston's, you did it again! Thank you for maintaining the highest standards in food and service.

WAY OVERPRICED. THE PRICES OF BAYONA AT A CHAIN RESTAURANT.........HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE BAR SERVICE (THOUGH BAR SERVICE ON ST. CHARLES IS GOOD)
Our recent visit at Red Lobster wasn't the greatest! First of all, they told us 10 minutes to be seated and it was about 25. Then when we were seated, there were several booths in that area that were empty. The lady that seated us was nice and fri

Houston's has always been one of my favorites for years. However, over the years their portions have gotten smaller and the prices higher. :(

Houston's was our favorite restaurant in the past. Now as of today, I will probably not go back, I was giving it one more chance. My daughter came in from out of town and insisted on going to this resturant, to have the Club Salad, well after we ordered Spinach dip and drinks we placed our main course. My daughter and myself ordered the Club Salad, and was told, we are sorry we are out of the fried chicken. So we had to order something so we choose the Club Salad with grilled chicken. What a dissapointment! The lettuce was a bunch of leaves, with tough stems left on and no tomato's at all. You have to ask for cheese toast and it was tough and heavy..yuck. The price is way to high a terrible salad. Things have really changed and not for the better.

I was extremely disappointed in this restaurant. I am glad that I was using a gift certificate that someone had given me because I would have been upset if I had to pay for the meal we received. I think $9.00 for a hamburger with soggy fries was outrageous and the club salad had four small pieces of chicken (no flavor) and a couple of pieces of avacado and they charged $12.00! I will never eat there again.
