It is a warm, family-friendly environment with a Grandma's kitchen sort of feel to it. There are toys for kids to play with including a ride on airplane that my son just loved! Add to that their home cooked meals and it is a win win for me. I will definitely go back.
I went to the West Haven beach last weekend and stopped at Big John's. The people there were really nice and the subs I got were great. We ate them on the beach. It was a wonderful day!

Lorenzo's is one of the finest Italian resturaunts in an area famous for it's Italian food. The quality and freshness of their food is consistently good. The portions are generous. The flavors are great...even the bread is excellent. And all at a family friendly price.

Stowe's is a great little clam shack located just across the street from the beach. Fried seafood of all types to order. Great value. The lobster bisque is succulent. Take home some of their baked stuffed scallops - packed with scallops and shrimp in a tasty stuffing.
West Haven Beach is dominated by "Chick's" but it's astronomical prices and "cash only" policy mean forking over a "C" note for a family of four. Our search for better value and tasitier fare led us up the street to Stowe's. From the outside, it looks like an old fishing shack..walk in and the aroma...
